“april fool” day one

april fool

I’m an April fool.

But I think just yesterday I was a March fool

& a February fool before that.

I start the month with starry-eyed dreams-

Listing the things I should start or stop or keep up.

I feel like I can,

But then I don’t.

Because when it comes down to it

I’m just an April fool.

& a few weeks from now 

I’ll be a May fool too.
